Innocent Man

In Christ we are set free by the blood of his death...Ephesians 1:7

Ever been caught in sin? Issues associated with sin are low self-esteem, addictions, fear, disappointments, disgrace, shame...very demeaning feelings. Kind of like the thorn of crown that Jesus was forced to wear. Kind of sticks you where you don't want to be stuck. In those low places.

My own heart has been caught in these thorns.

The heart of Jesus was never caught in those barbs.

Here was a man...an innocent man. And that was what Jesus was...a man. But His heart was pure. He was innocent of everything. He was simply an innocent man.

And yet He suffered for all of our sins. He was tormented and hung on a cross. All because of my sins!

I will never, ever again complain or moan about injustice in my life! I deserve everything that happens to me in this world! Because I am guilty, guilty, guilty! Whereas, Jesus did not deserve any of what happened to Him! He died for me! He was hung by his hands and feet so that I can be forgiven of my sins! I hang my head in shame for what He had to endure for me! An innocent man died because of my dirty deeds!

The Holy Spirit pounded this point home to me this morning! And I cried and cried, knowing that Jesus, an innocent man, was tormented and hung to die just for me!

I know that Jesus dying on the cross is taught everyday, but it just was brought home to me this morning. I don't know what point the Holy Spirit is trying to get across to me, but it stirred something in my spirit.

And I think it deserves being repeated.....

An innocent man died because of my dirty deeds!

Dear God, thank You, thank You, thank You, thank You for Jesus!
