Reality

For the sufferings of the present time are not worthy to compare to the coming glory to be revealed in us. Romans 8:18

This verse jumped out of the Bible in my daily readings.

Does this speak volumes to anybody else?

Do you know how much of a big deal that Satan tries to make our problems seem to us? He makes our daily failures, toils, problems, heartaches, losses, disappointments all seem almost like insurmountable things that we have to deal with day to day. He tries to make us think what a big deal everything in this life is. He wants us to think that our problems are really BIG problems!

But you know what? Absolutely everything in this life is irrelevant in comparison to the glory and wondrous amazement that God has in store for us! There is absolutely no comparison at all between what we are enduring right now and what God is going to reveal in us! We have no idea at all about the glory that God has for us...we can't even begin to comprehend what that all entails.

Doesn't Romans 8:18 put your failures into a whole new perspective? And I don't care if those failures are very minuscule in your mind or whether they are a tremendous loss or whether you are being physically tortured within an inch of your life...absolutely none of that can compare to what God has in store for us!

And this spills into 2 Corinthians 4:18....for the things seen are not lasting, but the things not seen are everlasting.

No matter what a big deal we think the things of this life are in our lives, they are temporary. Absolutely everything in this life (our home, our occupation, our families, our friends, our problems) will not last. What should matter to us is the Spiritual world. That is what we cannot see. That is what is eternal. That is what our ultimate goal should be. My ultimate goal is to love God and spend eternity with Him. And I cannot see God and I cannot see the Holy Spirit, but that is the way that He communes with us, through the Holy Spirit! And I can't see the Holy Spirit!

I'm going to go a step further with this...no matter how real our lives may seem, they are not. Reality is not what we can see, reality is not what surrounds us, reality is not our 5 senses...reality is the spiritual world. But let me tell you, Satan makes it seem as if everything around you is very, very real and a big deal! Don't you believe what you can touch, see, taste, hear and smell is absolutely real? He wants you to think that what surrounds you is IT...what is, what is. I hate it when people say you just have to accept the world for what it is...bad people live in the world and you just have to live with it, heartache and all. Yes, we have to live with it, but you know what? This is not IT, this world is not my ultimate goal. Yes, I have to tolerate it and live in it for the time being, but it is temporary! It is NOT REAL! What is real is eternal, it is what I cannot see! And the fact that what I do in this world will be reflected in my eternal world makes me want to do my best in this world and not worry one ounce about those things that Satan wants you to think are a BIG DEAL! They are not a big thing, after all!

Now, how does them apples grab ya?

Thank You, God, for your daily revelations! I feel like you are moving me in a direction I have never gone before! And I thank You for your gift of the Holy Spirit! I receive Him with joy and peace in my heart!
